Inside The Journey of Restoration

Inside the Journey of Restoration

At Mercy Workshop, once a woman steps off the streets and into the workshop, the work begins. That first step is hard. There is wobbling. There is looking back. There is a great deal of fear. But there is also community.

At the workshop, she begins a journey—but this time, not alone.

At the workshop, she begins a journey – but this time, not alone.

It takes time to unpack her story. As she tells it, it is rarely linear. Often, it comes out backward, in fragments. Memories surface slowly. It takes patience and care to understand where her pain and trauma began, and how far back it reaches. But she is safe here, and she is not rushed. We are invested.

The Mercy community walks with her intentionally and holistically. She is supported by a trauma-informed counselor, a certified life coach, a licensed psychologist, and many others who are committed to this journey alongside her. She meets with each of them at different times, at her own pace, as trust is built and healing begins.

Little by little, she starts to see past her pain—and into her future. Into her children’s future. For the first time in a long time, possibility begins to take shape. No one rushes her through this process. Healing is not forced. Dignity is never compromised.

This is what restoration looks like in real time. It is slow. It is relational. And it is only possible because of a community—people like you—who believe that every woman is worth the investment.

This is what restoration looks like in real time. It is slow. It is relational. And it is only possible because of a community – people like you – who believe that every woman is worth the investment.

Because of your generosity, this kind of care is possible every day at the Mercy Workshop. Women are receiving safe, dignified employment while also gaining access to long-term, trauma-informed support. Counseling, coaching, and psychological care are integrated into their work environment, allowing healing and economic stability to happen side by side. Your partnership ensures that restoration is not rushed, stories are honored, and women are given the time and support they need to build a future marked by hope.

Your continued support makes this work possible. When you give to Mercy, you are investing in more than programs—you are investing in women, families, and futures. We invite you to partner with us again, whether through a one-time gift or ongoing monthly support, to ensure that women at the Mercy Workshop continue to receive the care, dignity, and time needed for true restoration. Together, we can keep the doors open, the community strong, and hope within reach.
